Ever had that fresh cup of coffee after a lousy morning, when you hit the snooze button at least 10 times? That’s the rejuvenating feeling I got while reading this book, which I came across, especially because of its captivating title. It just so happens that I am working on my 2014 goals, and after reading this, I am recreating my goals for success. While there are things that may be seen as common sense, what makes this book stand out is that the author almost feels like a personal therapist sitting in front of you, guiding you in the most basic manner. One thing that I loved about this book was its simplicity. I particularly liked the way in which the author broke down the reasons for procrastination.
The icing on the cake was the author’s S.T.O.P. method, a unique abbreviation, which after reading, I won’t forget. I went through this book very quickly, but I found myself going back to the T part of STOP, because that is the heavy hitter! I also liked the daily affirmations after each section. Hearing about the brain and the limbic and prefrontal cortex imbalance causing procrastination was all new to me!! Why haven’t I heard about that before??? This book is best used as a tool, I already started completing the exercises today, and its been helpful with a big exam that I am currently studying for. Oh least I forget…the BONUS section!! Loved how the part about landmarks, and not placing 2 major ones back to back.
