For such a little book this one has great punch to it! If you need great advice about how to raise your girls into strong, confident women, this book will hand it out to you! I was reading it, and already was thinking about recommending it to my sister to read. I love how the author talks about giving your kids choices, and how to balance things with them. I plan on re-reading this again sometime, especially when I have girls of my own. Not focusing on beauty is so important for young girls, so that they develop a strong confidence for who they are, not what they look like.Product details

I would highly recommend this book to all mothers, and soon-to-be mothers, of daughters. It's filled with great advice that will help you raise daughters that aren't obsessed with body image and are more well-rounded individuals that will live full lives.
I thoroughly enjoyed "Fearless & Feminine, Raising Confident Daughters" and found it most enlightening. The author, Laurie W.J.N. who is also a professional educator and therapist shows that parenting can be tough! Laurie takes her own experience and makes it real for the reader. This book was highly informative with lots of good anecdotes and examples. A good read for anyone raising daughters and a terrific gift to a parent of a new girl. I don't necessarily agree with every point but it is important to challenge your own views. This book will give you great advice in helping you to create a great relationship with your daughters that will last for many years to come.
I'm a new mom and don't have daughters yet, but hope to in the future. i really enjoyed Laurie's advice in this short, easy to read little book, and feel that it is relevant to parents of both boys and girls, no matter what the title says. I especially liked the advice about limiting after school activites to 2- 1 for the child's brain and 1 for their body. i also really liked what she had to say about monitoring the ideas and things that come into your home through tv, social media, family, friends and even your own language. i think that this is imperative in raising confident sons or daughters, and am glad that i read this book now, while my child is still a baby and i can keep these things in mind for the future. i will definitely be recommending this book to several other moms i know!
This is a short, easy to read book that addresses the complexities of raising daughters. The author is able to address the issue both from a mother’s perspective and from the perspective of someone who has dealt with such serious topics as eating disorders on a professional level. Touching on issues that range from the influence of media and the pressure for girls to be unrealistically beautiful and thin, to academics, athletics, nutrition and more; the author brings a dollop of common-sense to how to teach girls to safely navigate the unique pressures that society puts on them. This book is a guide for parents to eventually give girls the tools to handle situations that may have the potential to injure self-esteem and turn those situations into learning opportunities; eventually raising strong, confident girls who can face up to the stereotypes, challenges and ultimately joy, of growing up female.
